PTSD is a disorder that develops in some individuals who have experienced a shocking, scary, or dangerous event. Anyone can develop PTSD at any age. It is estimated approximately 70% of adults in the U.S. have undergone some sort of traumatic event at least once in their lives and up to 20% of these people go on to develop PTSD. It is also estimated 3-15% girls and 1-6% of boys will develop PTSD. If you or anyone you love exhibits signs, help is available.
