Clara Barton Medical Center is pleased to announce the addition of Kimberly Beary, Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker, to its growing mental health team. As the need for mental health services continues to rise across Barton County and surrounding communities, Clara Barton remains committed to expanding access to quality behavioral health care. Beary’s addition strengthens the organization’s ability to provide compassionate, patient-focused support for individuals and families seeking help.
Beary will be providing care for patients of all ages and will specialize in helping individuals navigate depression, anxiety, stress management, relationship issues, workplace burnout, grief and loss, and personal growth.
Having long called the Great Bend area home, Beary brings more than 20 years of experience working with children and teens in a psychiatric residential treatment facility, as well as adult men through the Kansas Department of Corrections and Larned State Hospital. She earned her Bachelor of General Studies from Wichita State University, majoring in Psychology, Sociology, and Religion, and went on to complete her Master of Social Work from the University of Kansas.
Beary shared that the most rewarding part of her work is having the privilege of being a safe, trusted person that individuals can confide in as they navigate life’s challenges. “I get to work with individuals of all ages, ethnic groups, and walks of life,” she said. “It’s an honor to walk alongside them, even if just for a season.”
When asked what drew her to Clara Barton, Beary noted, “Clara Barton has an outstanding reputation for genuinely caring about their patients and staff. I am eager to join their team.”
“As we expand our mental health services, our goal is to ensure more patients have access to the support they need, close to home,” said Shayla Cook, Clinic Administrator at Clara Barton Medical Center. “Kimberly’s experience and patient-centered approach will help us continue to make a meaningful impact in the community.”
Outside of work, Beary enjoys spending time with family and friends and being outdoors surrounded by the beauty of nature. Her advice for patients is a reminder of compassion and resilience: “Life can be very rewarding but also very challenging. We all need a safe person to sit with in the darkness and celebrate those precious victories.”
Beary will see patients at both Clara Barton’s Hoisington and Great Bend Clinic locations.
