In celebration of National Rural Health Day, Clara Barton Medical Center proudly recognizes its dedicated employees who go above and beyond for their patients and community. Their commitment and leadership were most recently demonstrated through the foundation’s employee membership drive, which raised an impressive $29,518 toward replacing the 23-year-old C-arm used in radiology and surgery departments.
“This effort truly reflects the heart of rural healthcare—teams of dedicated professionals who not only deliver outstanding care but also inspire meaningful change through their actions,” said Michelle Moshier, Clara Barton Foundation Director.
To highlight this achievement and collaboration, a special check presentation was held featuring Moshier; Jay Tusten, Clara Barton Medical Center President/CEO; Betty Evers, Director of Radiology; and Valerie Romine, Director of Surgery. This celebrated and underscored the impact of the employees’ collective contribution to this project as of National Rural Health Day (November 21st).
This essential equipment is a cornerstone of the radiology and surgery departments, providing high-quality imaging during critical surgical and interventional procedures. The C-arm will enhance surgical and diagnostic capabilities, improving patient care in our rural community. Bolstering the effort, a generous community member has pledged to match all employee and community donations dollar-for-dollar up to $85,000 through the end of the year.
“With $65,000 raised so far, this initiative showcases the unwavering dedication of our employees and the extraordinary power of rural communities uniting for a common goal,” said Moshier. “It’s especially fitting to celebrate this milestone on National Rural Health Day, a day devoted to the strength and collaboration of rural communities. We deeply appreciate the generosity of our matching donor, whose support accelerates our progress and highlights the importance of working together to achieve meaningful change.”
