Clara Barton Medical Center is pleased to announce the promotion of Cindy Burton, RN, BSN, to Manager of Emergency and Outpatient Services.
A native of LaCrosse, Kansas, Burton earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fort Hays State University more than 37 years ago. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role, having worked at St. Anthony’s Hospital (now HaysMed), Rush County Memorial Hospital for over 20 years, Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, and Larned State Hospital before joining Clara Barton Medical Center in 2024.
Throughout her career, Burton has specialized in emergency medicine, medical/surgical inpatient care, and outpatient services. She holds certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), and NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale), is a BLS instructor, and is also a graduate of the Kansas Hospital Association Leadership Program.
Outside of her professional life, Burton enjoys sewing and building yard art. She and her husband have two adult children and six grandchildren. Dedicated to helping others both personally and professionally, she has volunteered for many years as a camp nurse at a Christian church camp and served as a sponsor on multiple church mission trips.
Burton shared that the most rewarding aspect of working in the medical field is being able to help others. In her new leadership role, she looks forward to continuing that mission by supporting both patients and associates and leading the Emergency and Outpatient Services team in a positive and collaborative manner.
