Clara Barton Medical Center Partners with Senior Life Solutions to Expand Mental Health Services for Older Adults

Clara Barton Medical Center (CBMC) is proud to announce a new partnership with Senior Life Solutions, bringing specialized outpatient mental health services for older adults to Central Kansas. Through this partnership, community members ages 65 and older who are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, or other emotional challenges now have increased access to compassionate, evidence-based care close to home.

At CBMC, caring for our community means caring for the whole person. While physical health often receives the most attention, emotional well-being is just as important. This is especially true in older adults as they navigate life changes such as retirement, the loss of a loved one, declining health, increased isolation, or other major life transitions. This new partnership reflects Clara Barton’s continued commitment to meeting the evolving healthcare needs of the communities we serve.

Senior Life Solutions is a nationally recognized outpatient program that partners with hospitals across the country to provide specialized mental health care designed specifically for older adults. By partnering with Senior Life Solutions, Clara Barton Medical Center is making specialized behavioral health care for older adults more accessible, allowing patients to receive expert care while remaining close to their families, friends, and the communities they call home.

“At Clara Barton Medical Center, we’re always looking for ways to better serve our community,” said Jay Tusten, CBMC CEO. “Mental health is an essential part of overall health, and we recognized a growing need for services specifically designed for older adults. Partnering with Senior Life Solutions allows us to provide that specialized care close to home.”

The Senior Life Solutions program is designed for adults, typically age 65 and older, who may be experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, grief, or other emotional challenges that are affecting their daily lives. The program provides personalized outpatient care in a welcoming, supportive environment and includes group therapy, individual counseling, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and ongoing support from a multidisciplinary team that includes a licensed therapist, a registered nurse, and a board-certified psychiatrist.

Following a confidential assessment, participants attend therapy sessions up to three times each week while continuing to live independently at home. The program focuses on helping participants build healthy coping skills, strengthen social connections, and improve their overall quality of life.

“Our goal is for every older adult in our community to know they don’t have to face life’s challenges alone,” said Emily Wenke, Senior Life Solutions Program Director. “With the right support, it’s possible to regain hope, build meaningful connections, and enjoy life again. We’re excited to bring this much-needed resource to the central Kansas area.”

The program is conveniently located at CBMC’s off-campus location at 165 W. 7th Street in Hoisington, just two blocks south of the hospital. Anyone can refer a patient to the Senior Life Solutions program, including healthcare providers, family members, friends, caregivers, or individuals themselves.
