Clara Barton Expands Youth Mental Health Services with Kiersten Rogers, LMSW

Clara Barton Medical Center is excited to welcome Kiersten Rogers, Licensed Master Social Worker, to its team of mental health professionals, expanding Clara Barton’s focus on providing therapy services for children, teens, and families. Access to specialized mental health care is an important need for children and families in rural communities, and Rogers’ addition represents an exciting opportunity to grow these services and provide more support close to home.

Earning her bachelor’s degree in social work from K-State Salina in 2024, she continued her education and obtained her master’s degree from the University of Kansas in 2025. Rogers is currently working towards her clinical social work licensure, the highest level of independent clinical practice in social work in Kansas.

Rogers see patients of all ages, but will primarily work with children and teens, helping them navigate emotional, behavioral and other mental health challenges. She is also pursuing additional training to become a Registered Play Therapist, a specialized area of practice that uses play to help children express emotions, communicate experiences and work through challenges in ways that are appropriate for their developmental stage.

Drawn to Clara Barton by its friendly and caring atmosphere, Rogers says the most rewarding part of being a therapist is making a positive impact on someone’s life. She wants patients to feel comfortable being themselves without fear of judgment, helping create a welcoming environment where children, teens and their families can feel supported.

“With pediatric services already available at Clara Barton, expanding access to mental health care for children and teens is an important next step in meeting the needs of the families we serve,” said Shayla Cook, Clinics Administrator. “Kiersten helps fill a gap in our services, and we’re excited to grow our ability to support children’s mental and emotional well-being close to home.”

Outside of work, Rogers enjoys reading, crocheting and spending time outdoors. She is engaged to a pilot and shares her home with two dachshunds, Tubby and Boomer.

Rogers is now accepting patients in Hoisington and Great Bend. If you would like to make an appointment or have questions, call 620-653-2386.
